Mad Dog Lou
I Just purchased a (Godfather) Stage 3 700R4 from Mad Dog Lou. I have a 94 GMC K2500 350 sbc, it is stock rebuit, but will add 383 Stroker soon. It is being built as we speak by Lous younger brother. I have faith in this company as i will document (with picturez) the installation nd performance of my Transmission. I have done extensive research on companies. Monster was a lil pricee, I was bout to buy all my own seperate parts nd do it myself but i found Mad Dog Transmissions. #IfYouAint1stYourLast

So you are adding a detent cable setup to the tbi setup then? 94 stock trans is a 4L60E trans(all electronic) where as the 700R4 has a detent cable to know when to shift... they will not work in place of one another with out extra stuff....

I bought a 2wd 700r4 from Mad Dog Transmissions about 7 years ago. It was an absolute piece of ****, but couldn't do anything about it because the warranty had expired before I had the project car running and driving. It literally looked like they took a stock transmission and painted it black and sold it as a better unit. I was pretty pissed, but ended up having it rebuilt locally, and didn't have any more problems.

Seems about par for the course for most online trans builders...

This is why I always recommend a local builder. Thanks for the info Justin, always good to hear from someone with first hand experience.

I am checking Trans parts before Installation when it arrives. What Stage and transmission did you purchase. The staffing has been changed down at Mad Dog. My Trans is being handled by the owners younger brother at his desk. P.S. 7 years ago the company was crap. Extensive Research says he cleaned shop.

I don't remember the specifics. But I want to say it was a stage 3 or similar, and I had also special ordered it with a higher stall tc. When the rebuild was done, the guy showed me some of the internal parts and said there was no way they were new and or updated. It still had the stock clutch packs, which were completely worn.

Good thing you didn't go with monster. I've watched them slap **** together live. It's not good.
