I was just wondering if it was possible to fit a 94 grille on my 93? I like the way these look rather than the 94 style. Do bolting points match up? Will it fit properly? Thanks

This info really should be a sticky post because it gets asked a bunch.

You'll need:

94-up corner marker lenses for Chevy
94-up park lenses
94-up filler strip between bumper and grille
94-up filler strip corner pieces (grille to fender)
94-up middle bumper brackets (the outers are the same, middle 2 are slightly longer than 93-down)
94-up center bracket (it's just a little piece plastic the middle grille screw goes into above the emblem)

Easy job other than rounding up the parts without it nickle and diming you to death.

Also, the later grille has a tab on either side that fits into correlating hole mounts in the radiator support.
The '88-'93 trucks do not have these hole mounts on the radiator support and will require you to drill and file them to the correct size/shape. Some guys break off the tabs, but they are meant to hold the entire bottom of the grill firmly... or if your rad support has some rot, just find a good used GM rad support off a donor truck. (New Chinese replacements arent made anywhere near as well)

Best to go to a junkyard and find a '94-'98 C/K and take a good look at one to see what I mean... I dont have any pics handy.

Some of the earlier core supports will fit the grille without issue; depends on year. '93 has a pretty good chance of being directly compatible. '88-'91 or so, not so good, but can be made to work fairly easily. Definitely agree with you that the Chinese replacement sheetmetal is inferior.

Not without a lot of work.
Huh? Easy job

When i did it to my 88 i just reused the original parking lights, they didnt quite fit the grille but not enough to bother me
Makes me nuts seeing those in the newer grille. They're angled instead of flat, and just barely too big to sit square in the hole.

Richard,

When I swapped one onto my '92, I immediately ran into this tab issue. There was a bulge on each side, where the later ones didnt have them and had those mounting holes/notches. Being that my rad support is getting crusty anyway, I adjusted it with a BFH, drilled a couple holes, and fine-tuned it with a small triangle file...good enough at the time.

So my 93 head lights will fit this grill?

Yes, assuming you already have the composite lamps (plastic, wide lamps) vs the large square glass ones used on base model/work truck trim level.

Even the glass quad lamp setup from 88-90 fit the 94-up grilles.
