Since you keep changing the subject and adding other irrelevant info, I can tell that you're really just here to troll.

Richard

Its only call trolling if every time you post you start a disruption. This is the only thread or forum that I have argued with anyone.

You are missing the point @Blackwater, in the year differences between the trucks. You can't just "swap" a 92-94 cluster with a tach into a 88-91. Richard pointed out the big differences....

you say "I mentioned that they could be swapped. I know this cause I have done this to others. Schematics are all the same, pin layout and connectors differ."

The wiring is the same (largely) with the same connector 88-91. They entire setup changed in 92-94 with a new plug style and the speed sensing equipment was moved external to the cluster.... so no, the schematics aren't the same... Plugs between the two style vary greatly.

I have an 88, I converted it to 92-94 style wiring with external DRAC and a 454SS cluster... Not a simple task. Yes it can be done.

I think the definition of something that is plug and play, a swap or something that is do-able isn't really defined the same as it is for myself or Richard, although I get what you are saying.

Lets calm down with the attitudes now.

That and we are way off topic.

Hello I am wondering if you have any info to rewire my 90 cluster harness to a 93. Also wiring for drac. I think that is all that is necessary to complete swap. One more thing I converted my 7.4 to carburetor. So I need to run a tach wire from distributor to dash harness correct?

You don need to run a tach wire to your cluster. It is already in the harness to the cluster. You just need to get the right connector and re-pin it. What's wrong with your rally cluster?

aaaaaand since he's a '90 he has to wire in a DRAC to support the '93 cluster, as well as mod the DRAC for the correct gear ratio/tire size so the speedometer will be correct. Again this is not just a connector swap or a simple re-pin. Yes many have done it and it is not a difficult job but let's not sell it short by saying it's just a connector swap.

Hello. I have a 90 454. I will be upgrading my cluster to needle style. I want to know what would be better, a 91 454 cluster or a 93? I like the external DRAC on the 93 making it easier to change settings if I ever change Rims and tires. I know the 91 is plug and play all except three wires, but you still have to cut into your dash to remove the connector and change wire location. If Im going to cut the dash I might as well do a 93 cluster right?
