Can you get METAL outer door handles from shops or the dealership? I didn't want to do plastic and I ordered metal ones off ebay but the ******* lock cylinder socket is upside down in them for whatever ******* reason.
Real pain in the ass to get that **** all out and then see that the replacements are ****** and won't work,

The lock cylinder "flip" pretty sure is an OEM design change from the 88-94 style handles to the 95-up. Good luck as I believe all the new replacement handles are the newer design. Memory is a little fuzzy on this but I believe it to be accurate.

Great thread! I desperately need to replace both door pins. Will be using this as a reference for my truck.

So when I bought my truck, the drivers side interior handle was toast, and the exterior one is all broken up, so I ordered two new handles. Meanwhile, on the passenger door, it won't unlock from the inside(it will lock from the inside though), only the outside. It sounds like door pins are too blame? Does anybody know the part numbers to replace them? Do I need to replace the lock actuator on that side too? I'm kind of confused.

Another issue I've run into is a short on the power lock/cigg lighter circuit, it keeps blowing fuses, so I need to trace that out too...

You guys ever look at the Swanson pins and busings? They seem to look a bit better than the Dormans
