Supposedly since Ford dropped out their partnership with Navistar for the F6/750 a year or two ago, GM jumped in bed with them so hopefully we see a TopKick return within the next few years.

This is true. GM and Navistar are a thing. I work for a Navistar parts dept.

So i've been tossing around ideas on what to do for gauges. Since i'm going for a clean stock type look, I wanted to have all nice matching gauges. I was looking into Autometer speedo/tach, and then a triple gauge setup with oil psi, water temp, and volts. After seeing how much those cost, and what I would have to do to make them fit nicely into the dash, I decided that for a little more, i'd go with Dakota Digital gauges. They look sharp, and will wire up easily. Best part is, it comes with a speed sensor that goes right into the Tremec trans, so after calibration, I should have an accurate speedo. Should have it by Tuesday, but who knows how long till I get it installed. I also got some cab mount washers from Dylan, so the polyurethane cab mounts won't sit crooked in the mounts. Once I get the cab secured, I can finally get the interior back together, i've been looking forwards to that.

Spent some time this afternoon doing a few little things. I finally got what was left of the old headliner out. I also messed with the cab mounts. I had a hell of a time trying to get the old bushings out of the upper brackets, so I ended up just tossing them in my barrel stove to do the job for me. Almost have my mount washers figured out, after that's settled I can bolt it down and get the rest of the interior back together. Oh, I also have to get some new bolts for the cab mounts, I don't trust these ones!

Ok, I think I got the cab mount issue solved. I originally got a dozen of the thin shims in the picture to try and help the new bushings sit flat on the frame, but they were too flimsy and I needed to stack 5 of them for it to feel secure, plus I think it would be best to put a couple underneath as well to make sure they don't move. If I did that I would have to buy a bunch more, and they aren't very cheap. I went into Runnings today to find some new mount bolts and happened to come across these flanges in the tractor section. I think they will do perfect. I'm thinking of using one of the flanges on the top so it can support the weight better, then maybe 2 or 3 of the shims underneath just to make sure they stay put. I'm planning on spending the afternoon tomorrow getting that done, and hopefully get some of the interior back in.

Progress! The cab is now completely bolted down. I also got most of the interior back together. New headliner is in, carpet and seats are just sitting there, because i'm probably going to pull it up again to seal up some of the factory drain holes, the rubber plugs deteriorated. I also installed the cupholder, and swapped out the center section from the factory cassette to a factory delete panel. Shifter looks great in there, will wait to bolt down the boot till the carpet is in permanently.
