I've searched the site and googled, but have not come across an answer to this. Did the 89-94 c/k1500 come with a factory trailer brake option? My specific application is a 94 k1500. I apologize in advance if this has been covered. If it has, feel free to comment to the thread.

If the trucks did, where do you look for the wiring?

Thanks

I'd have to double check the 94 but I'm pretty sure the wires are factory installed from dash to rear bumper. The easiest way is to look for a wire bundle folded back on the left frame rail. Your on your own for hooking the brake controller to the blue and power to the other one.
If there's an rpo code someone around here probably knows it.

If you have the wiring it is a pair of wires (blue and orange). It will be by the bumper bracket on the left rear frame rail and under the brake booster.

^x2.
Easiest way to tell is look for those two wires. I always checked on the firewall just below the brake booster in the harness that runs down the frame rail. Sometimes you can see them sticking up by just leaning over the fender looking, sometimes you gotta crawl underneath and find it farther down the harness. It's sort of hit or miss if these trucks have them.
