What do you think about using hir bulbs in highs and lows?

in the high beam position, great upgrade......as far as in the low beam? i'm still hung up on the glare shield issue as the HIR has no "black tip" like the stock 9006......i'm looking at it in more depth now........i hope michael will chime in and explain it all in depth for us.

personally i see no reason for me to change over to it for the low beam....i'm very satisfied with the Philips i have....especially the color temperature it has, 3300K v. 3400K of the X-tremeVision(which is my high beam)......the HIR is said to be closer to the stock 3K....i don't know how much real difference it makes, but my lights are definitely "whiter than they were

scroll down this page for more info on the temperatures of them

Is there a noticeable difference between 3300 and 3400 k? May go with the low beams you have and hir highs

No....I can tell the difference from stock, but I doubt the human eye can see 100 difference on the kelvin scale.....the good HID's are 4600 in my opinion....6000 is blue.

The +100% would be the way to go for low imo....probably not last as long as the +60%..... and these types aren't even close in life expectancy as stock.....but there's your trade off.

Thanks. I probably won't go with the fogs because the truck sits so low. My other truck that I did kept "eating" the spoiler because of it's ride height, or lack of height. Thanks again.

I would for the minimal cost add the fog light circuit, even if you don't plan on using it at this moment. The harness will work on any vehicle with 9005/9006 plugs. If you wanted to do a bit of work ( new connectors ) it would then move to another different vehicle after this one.

a shitpot full of boxes awaited me......

let's start with the Euro-spec rear fog....i was told about this by "i forgot who"...but bought it from an online GM part retailer.....didn't know it didn't come with the mounting bracket, i'll have to get that.

export vehicles must have the harness for this lamp as it has the connector and christmas-tree.

i'm happy with this purchase....was like $62 with shipping......it's hard to find a damned OEM type rear fog light.

i'm not keen on cars...or what was available from the different manufactures, but this is a nice piece. apparently this particular unit was used on like '88-91 Buicks.......also the similar lens was used on some Fords and Lincolns

oddball size too. i've never seen one like this. lens is a bit "foggy" from sitting....it's a beautiful crisp lens.

here's the lens, it's not flat....seems it would have a wider beam as it has two "facets" to it.

well made body. i'me missing a few locking parts to mount it, but mine will be special mounted to my truck anyway.
