Hey guys, I have takin a lot of advice from this site before BUT first time posting. I have an 89 gmc scsb. After three years finally having the horrible ball joint squeek of death. I wanna drop it, so two birds one stone. My uncle has a 95 he has djm drop spindals shackles and hangers he no longer wants. So he wants to trade for my stock stuff. I also have a buddy with djm lower control arms. As far as I know the spindles are different. Iv also found out the brakes on 88-91 single cabs are smaller. So to be able to use his spindles.... Beacause theyre free what parts would need to be swapped in order to make them all work....

The difference between "regular duty" brakes (88-91 regular cab w/o hd brake option) vs. "heavy duty brakes" (all other half tons) is simply the rotor thickness, 1" vs. 1.25".

BTW running drop spindles AND drop lower control arms not really the best combination, really puts your scrub line way too low to be really safe. Yes, a lot of people have done it, but that doesn't make it right. Spindles & springs are fine, or lca's & springs, but not spindles & lca's.

Oh heard the spindle size is different.... So your saying don't worry about the drop spindles? Just go with the control arms?

The spindles are different. You said you were getting them so I told you what else you needed - the rotors. To accommodate the thicker rotor, the axle portion of the spindle is longer.
