so this past week me and my brother in law did a motor swap on my dad 3500 truck . it had the original 454 with a blown rod until we swapped it out for another 454 from our local salvage yard. they're both vortec engines but there seems to be an idle issue. the newly installed motor is running but idles at 2400 rpm. is there a way to adjust the idle? I inspected the mass air flow and it is shut all the way. the throttle cables have no tension. thanks for the help/ advice in advance!!!!!!!

Your throttle body is shut all the way, im assuming is what you mean lol. Pull the IAC, idle air control valve, and clean or swap with your old one.

Did you ever fix this problem? I have the same issues after replacing the TPS.
