My engine maintenance light is staying on. My mechanic said that it was the 02 sensor. He replaced it, but the light is still on. He also said that the truck only has 1 oxygen sensor.

Is it true that my 90 Silverado only has one 02 sensor??

Yes only 1 sensor, and a 90 it's a 1 wire sensor. No GM trucks I've seen before obd2 in 96 had more then 1.

Thanks for the response. I'm still baffled as to why that service engine light won't go off.

Well I'm not going type on my phone but you can take a paper clip and get the codes yourself, then post what codes you have.

Probably stuck in the computer. Disconnect the negative cable for 30 seconds. Then see if it comes back.
