So I finally pulled the trigger on some new lights for the Ole girl. Picked up some cheap ZMAUTO PARTS headlights with less and set of Spyder led Taillights. Also went with a 35w 6000k Kensun hid kit with the relay harness.

Installation on the tails were pretty easy. Just unhook the pigtails and plug right in to the led housing.

I think it's a pretty good upgrade myself. Didn't really want anything to flashy.

Went through and did some quick touch up one the bedlined bumper and grill. Hoping to get a new grill and bumper come summer time. Somehow the old grill shrunk a bit and cracked.

Wired up the relay for the hids. Not to much to it. Hooked the fused power to the battery terminal. Connected the single passenger side headlight plug to the relay for a trigger, leaving the drivers side disconnected. Grounded both sides to the headlight bracket bolts. Got the relay ran to both ballasts that were 3m double sided taped to the rad support. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of any of this with the snow coming down.

The ZMauto headlight are OK for the price I suppose. Broke both the adjusters off the bat. Managed to get them adjusted before install measuring off my stock lights. Hopefully it's close enough. The corners fit right in place with no issues. The led bumper light had the original style bulb connectors with the resistors. I would have to say they were pretty damn big though. That and one for each plug.

All in all I like the outcome so far. Will see how they hold up over the rest off winter.

Nice upgrade, what's up with the 65 in the background?
Thanks. That is another project currently on hold. She's been rewired with the American auto wire update harness/fuse block. New fuel lines and replaced everything with the brakes but the peddle. Found her sitting in a field with them wheels. Last registered in 89. Unfortunately she's got a warped 283 in her at the moment. Got that 2 wheel drive suburban for a grand to do a ls swap when I get the weather.

I love that series of trucks as that is when I grew up. Being from New England they have rusted to dust or bring crazy money for junk. I turned my hobby shop into my place of employment 15 years ago so have no indoor storage for toys. I am in negotiations with a guy in Co. at the time for a 66 step bed to put on my 98 to continue my retro look. I like the convenience and comfort of the 400 series as a daily driver but want the older look.

That would be pretty sweet. At the moment don't even have a garage myself. I actually just sold my 66 short step to my little brother. Are you working on doing the front clip and bed with it?

No just the bed swap and I am going with old style dog dish caps. I have painted the truck a 60's color blue already. This is a photo shop pic done for me by a member of this site with the bed swap.
