I tried to buy a pulse board to my 89 K3500. It's not like the one on my 98 but that is all it shows in rock auto and auto zone. This is a small rectangle enclosed in a black plastic shell. Was there a conversion to the newer style or am I looking at the wrong part?

The style you have is what was used from 1988-1990. The new style came in for 1991.

If your circuit board is acting up, a simple resoldering of the joints usually fixes them up, even the older style like yours. The main trouble area is where the harness socket attaches to the board. I've fixed uncountable 1991-up boards, but also several of the 1988-1990 style too.

I went to pull-a-part and picked up a pulse wiper motor and replaced my 1988 non-pulse motor.
