Just a heads up. The steel accessory brackets on 88-89 are known for cracking, especially by the power steering pump. Make sure that you use the bracket from the ps pump to the exhaust manifold as well as the stabilizer brackets from the belt tensioner to the intake.

More progress today. At this point it probably only needs one more day to finish everything up to drive it! We actually were only out there for four hours and got quite a bit done! I spent a good period of time cleaning today as well. The other two did pretty much everything else.

Cleaned the TBI, installed new header gaskets, installed all of the engine accessory brackets, paired the SM465 to the 350, installed the dust shield, installed the oil filter adapter, etc. A few little things! Here it sits ready to be installed.

And it's in the truck! Installing the combo was much easier than pulling the combo out. Kyle started reconnecting wires and the motor mount bolts and then we had to leave so I could attend my father's birthday dinner.

I figured it would be a good time to grab a sharpie and cardboard and made a list of to-do. I actually found the nail in the glove box of the truck!

Not bad I think for 4 days of working on the truck and two of those days were half days. On Saturday I'll go back out there and hopefully button everything up, check everything, and go for a test drive. The one thing I do have to sort out is a starter, Tyler had one from Napa that didn't work so I'm going to take that in and get a replacement and then my truck will start!

Thanks for the heads up! I made sure every single bracket was installed today after reading your reply, good to know that they could crack, I would have never known!

I always trash that bracket and use the 90-95 aluminum brackets instead.

This isn't really build specific, but I was running through 1989 Chevy K2500 on Google (saw my truck a few times in the results) however I came across this...

I am surprised it has 20k on the clock, it is literally immaculate and looks almost to a T like my truck minus fender flares and rims from the outside.

Hopefully someone buys it, it's a super clean truck and I wish it was mine! I'll never own that truck but now I have a good idea of what my truck would look painted the same color and was clean.

I find it interesting that the truck doesn't even have a backseat from the factory and has a turbo 400 trans. Must be an 8 lug truck.

Nice looking truck but it's pretty pricey! If I had money burning holes in my pocket maybe I'd go buy it but I don't so I'm stuck with what I have haha. Makes my truck look like a Silverado compared to it with my A/C, tilt steering column, and rear bench seat lol

I'm thinking there is 8 lugs under those covers, I don't even think you could get a 700R4 in a 8 lug truck at the time but I guess the late Suburban 3/4 tons came with either a TH400 or a 700R4.
