I purchased a rebuilt transmission and when i tried to bolt on the yoke it moved too close the the actual housing and didnt have a gap like the old 4l80e transmission.

I'm guessing this rebuilt 4l80e uses a slip yoke.

If I use a slip yoke do I have to change the length of my driveshaft?

If there is a matching length slip on yoke then what vehicle is it on? I need to so I can find the part.

On my t400's I would take the slip yoke and weld a steel freezeplug in it to seal the yoke. Ran it like that for years with a hardhitting full manual valvebody. I did not have any problems.
