Thanks for everyone's info! Not going to believe this, but..I found my owners manual for my 2000 K2500 CCSB. Seems as though for the year 2000, they don't go into details for the 3/4 ton truck tow rating based on cab configuration. Thought I'd give back to the community in case anyone else was looking for tow rating info:

Yes. You can see in every configuration these trucks get rated to pull more and more weight based on their gearing. What do you have now for gearing? There are other things to do for more power too.

Yeah, open the glove box and look for your RPO sticker. Gesring will be a 3 digit code starting with G, i.e. GT3=3.42, GT4=3.73, GT5=4.10, and G80=locking differential.

No, you can change over to a 4.10. What year is it though? I personally feel that a Vortec tows better with a 4.10 than a TBI.

My truck is a 1996, with 5.7 and is a 4x4.

But i have put a 6" lift and tire in 35'

If a put a 4.10 gear is good or need more short ? Or other tip ?

And you speak of TBI, what is it ?
