More Progress pics.. I Owe 4k. Learned a lesson the hard way. I bought a used diesel 2011 f250 they are absolutely not worth the money for me. I need a capable truck but i just cant justify paying or dealing with newer vehicle problems. I really liked this truck and have always liked the gmt 400s. I will have some time in it but no where near the price of a comparable new truck. plus i Can work on these truck fairly easy. no more going to THE DEALER/STEALER FOR A TURN SIGNAL THAT CAN ONLY BE TURNED BACK ON BY A COMPUTER FOR $300 BUCKS....Stupid. I could go on and on about WHY i am doing this project. I just AM and keeping a pics of progress. Thanks its fun

You can disable turn signals??? Maybe that's why nobody uses them. The dealer turns them off an nobody wants to pay to have them enabled again!

Lol no if the body control module senses a small fluctuation in current or voltage it shut the circuit off. I even dianoised the problem with it and told them what to do....

Awwww. I was hoping I could give people the benefit of the doubt. Guess I'll have to revert back to the old reliable response of cussing and :flipthebird: hahaha

Grind the areas around the cracks at least 2 inches wider and using a grinder V the cracks the best you can. Drilling a hole as was said is a very good idea, at least 1/8 or larger. Any areas like near the motor mounts I'd also plate them and/or put some angle brace's to stiffen everything up. With the number of cracks you've found I'd look over everything really well as other areas might have cracks from the stresses put on the frame. Good luck and don't worry, everything can be fixed.

I'm with you on NOT BUYING a new vehicle. The biggest problem is you need too many electronic testers to find out why it won't do this or that!!! Give me a 95 and older GM and I can fix anything on it. That's why I'm doing up my New to me 95 Van. I also have a 90 full size and a 2000 Astro. What can I say I started to drive Vans when the kids were young and for my business and I can't seem to stop buying another and another and another!!! This newest one is absolutely mint inside and not too bad outside with only 122k on it! And a new engine that runs hard and fast. OK you can stop laughing now. Before I did anything it went from 0-65 in 16.97 making five runs on the same stretch of road. I've done quite a few things and will keep you posted on my progress. So you keep working on your " old " truck and you'll be very happy once you've finished it your way! Best of luck with everything.

I just dont understand how new truck keep selling. I mean I make an pretty decent living and live in a rather low cost of living are and i would never fork over that kind of money for a truck.. I had a new F250 quoted last year and it was ridiculous. TOTALY BASE which you cant hardly find. 4x4 crew cab GAS was going to be over 55k after interest and you figure in all the extra costs it just doesnt add up... But tony i have some platting im going to use to beef up the engine mounts. Im going to shoot for being done with the blasting and welding by this weekend... Im ready to start switching stuff over.

What color are you planning on doing on the frame, black or are you going to spray it the same as the cab??? With all the work your doing on it you'll want to show it off right? Something to think about.

I thought about it...Im painting it gloss black. Its going to be a truck that i use to haul with so its not going to be a show truck. my next project truck I am going to paint the frame a different color. My cab is black and if i was going to use this truck as a back up or just to take camping and stuff i would paint the frame red.. i think it would look pretty cool

I'd do a silver on it personally. Subtle but noticeable.
