Thanks, yeah I'm going on 7 months now. At least it's keeping me out of trouble. A bit of a pain to find tires for the rims I picked up. 16x10 Eagle alloys. I think -24 offset. I really like the General Grabbers SRL (AKA Red Letter). Going for 315 75 16 when the time comes.

Good idea on cross bracing bars for the bed lift. Haven't seen to many think about stuff like that. Projects looking good.

Thanks, got the idea from a buddy of mine. I'm planning on using the truck as a truck after it's built so added strength is always good.

Question for you guys, debated starting a new thread for this question.

I threw 2.5" keys in and 3" blocks. I know the only weight in the truck right now is the motor, tranny, and transfer case, but the back end is sitting roughly 5"-7" higher than the front. I used my 2wd parts truck as a reference. I know the weight of the cab and bed will settle out the back end a bit, probably bring the difference down to 4"-6".

After I plopped the motor in, the upper control arms didn't even come off of the bump stop. I stood on the rad saddle mount and started jumping and the only real flex I was getting was out of the tires. I ended up cutting out the upper control arm bump stop. That gave me more height, but now my ball joint is maxed, and the wheel is cambered in at the top. The CV shafts are on an aggressive angle angle as well.

I was thinking I could make some spacers for the upper control arms and front diff. I figure this would give me a bit more height out of the front end and help my angles quite a bit.

Has anyone encountered this? I figure I could drop the front diff a lot, probably around 4" to straighten out the CV shafts, and space between the upper control arm and ball joint about 1"-2"

Also the design of the diff drop is going to be interesting. The one side is easy, just throw a block between the bracket and the plate welded to the tube to bring it down. But the diff pot side is a bear. I'm not really sure how I'm going to do it as of yet. If anyone has suggestions, I am open to anything.

Return the keys and blocks wherever you got them. If you want to be tall, buy an actual lift. Dropping the diff is only half the battle and will not solve the issues related to horrible tie rod/ball joint angles. I understand they are expensive but thats the only way your going to get it to sit how you want it to and not replace balljoints and cv shafts every other month. And with a lift youll actually be able to get a good alignment. Theres no way your camber angle will ever come close with that much crank and stock ucas and youll chew through those new tires your about to buy.

Edit: i know that probably isnt what you wanted to hear but with all the money youve put into your truck you might as well do the suspension the right way. Sorry if it came across kinda harsh.

No problem, I asked for recommendations. That's all I needed to hear. I was debating spending the money on an actual lift. Truth about the keys and blocks is that I found them laying around the shop so I thought I might as well try and use them. Sucks I won't be able to, but at least I know it will be done right.

What do you recommend for a lift? I saw that Superlift has a 5"-7" for not a bad price.

Id go rough country just because you cant really beat the price and they all do the same thing. Ive never had or heard of anyone having any problems with them and theyre about the cheapest on the market. Their shocks arnt the greatest but the rest of the lift is solid.

Unfortunately I don't think they have a lift for my truck. I can only find half ton 6 bolt stuff, I'm not sure if it will work or not.
