Well done Sir! That's a lot to tackle on your own, I'm too big of a chicken...LOL

Thank You Sir, it's a lot of work but it'll be worth it in the end. I keep getting held up by the small stuff. I ordered a deeper trans pan and a drain plug kit for it and the drain plug kit that came is complete junk, B&M universal type, I'd work but I just don't trust it. I have a new welder ordered and once it gets here I will just tig a plug into the pan once that's done I can finally set it all in the truck. Funny, when this all started I had these delusions that'd I'd knock this out in a few weekends lol.

Oh, and anyone attempting to rebuild a 4l60e you really don't need any special tools, you can work around with standard stuff or build your own but what I WOULD recommend buying is a good set of snap rings pliers and by good set I mean the SnapOn set that most Trans builders are using. The snap rings are a pain, they don't have eyelets, just bevels on the ends. I finally wised up and modified a set pliers that I have to work with the rings but they're still a pain.

Over the weekend I found enough time to go ahead and set the engine in place.

I am about ready to fire this thing up! Actually I would have done so Sunday but I am missing 1 starter bolt. So I have to have patience!

Wiring harness, it looks much more intimidating than it is, I already had a 0411 swap done on the truck so it was just a matter of taking out what I dont need and adding what I do.

Building the turbo manifold, I used the stock truck manifolds and made a "log" for the turbo, the manifolds are made from Cast Steel, not cast iron, they weld GREAT! the outlets will face forward and connect together with a section of 2.25" pipe (crossover pipe)

Here's the turbo log with the merge built. It connects to the crossover pipe using a V-band

Here's the turbo temporarily mounted on the manifold to show the placement the turbo. I am very happy with it, far enough from my alternator and a nice air gap around it.

This is the driver side manifold being modified, it just needed extended and a slight 45* angle to clear the steering shaft and power steering box/hoses

I was able to modify and use the factory heat shields on the modded manifolds.. I hate heat.. these are a MUST. Here they are all cleaned up, v-band welded on for the crossover pipe, hi heat paint, and wrapped where needed.

Business side!

This kind of shows how much room I have to work with.. or dont have rather.

Another shot of the engine with turbo in place... Also you can see the Lextech ac/alternator relocation kit I used. I live in Texas, I need that AC on my 500+ hp hotrod...

The crossover pipe connects like this, will be connected in the center where the two 90's meet.

I am one mandrel 90 short that I need to finish the crossover pipe, I have one on the way from Summit now and I can finish up the hotside piping I will then move on to the cold side piping.

Now I am in the process of running a down pipe, and finishing up the harness. Theres a slight miss in the video, its better now and the idle and off idle transient are tuned. Its snappy and gets into boost FAST.

I installed the drive shaft last night and the trans has reverse and drive lol, my first 4l60e rebuild so there's a little apprehension still...... so, so far so good. Hope to drive it and get some part throttle tuning down this weekend.

So far so good on this. I've been tuning tuning tuning and currently am running the boost at about 8lbs. I put a set of Nitto 555s on the back to help it hook up. Also bought a Spartan Diff locker for the rear end, have yet to install it. I just finished up replacing the entire front suspension.

Here's a video with it set to 5lbs boost, this was pre-tires. The Nittos hook up quiet a bit better than these
