Hey everyone,

92 K2500, TBI 350 4x4

So the front fuel line on my truck sprung a bit of a leak, which I have come to determine is in the rubber hose. I would rather replace the old hose with AN fittings and braided hose, than pay the $100.00 each for the Dorman replacements at the parts store (perks of living in Alaska).

My question is whether I should go -8 of -6. Given the motor is stock for the most part. I am leaning towards -8, because I am unsure of the pressure drop between the two and what potential impact it could have on the fuel system. I believe that -8 is also closer to the stock fuel line size as well.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Daniel

You want to spend $$ on braided hose and AN fittings when a hunk of high pressure fuel line hose and 2 hose clamps will do the job?

The TBI system is low pressure, compared to newer fuel injected vehicles. A piece of HP fuel line hose and clamps will likely outlive the truck.

True. I'm also trying to anticipate further modifications in the future, which is why the thought of braided lines sprung to mind.

-6 is plenty, I think it is equivalent to 3/8 inch fuel line...-8 is like 1/2 inch which is what I would use on my drag race car. I think the factory may have used around 5/16 inch diameter or so...are you planning to just do a section are the complete line? If you are doing it from the pump you can get AN conversion fittings...
