I have two parts trucks. One...a 2003 GMC 2500hd gas and the other a 1996 k2500 gas 350 vortec with a nv4500. I want to swap in the lq4 and the nv4500 into my 1997 rcsb k1500 that currently has a nv3500 and v6. My questions are...

1. Other than any part I would need from one of these trucks anything else notable? Motor mounts? ....?

2. Will I have to modify the stock harness being that I'm running the standard transmission?

3. Also curious what 2500 suspension and brake parts what be interchangeable between these two trucks and my 97.

Are both parts trucks 8 lug? The 8 lug stuff won't fit up front, the hubs have a different bolt pattern, UCAs have different mounting ears, diff won't bolt in, etc. Wiring will be required for this swap, you'll have to merge 2 harnesses if it's like the other swaps I've done because you still have stuff from the engine that feeds back into the cab. If you're trying to use the 350 trans behind the 6.0 you may have to deal with spacing, but whatever you need for that is out there. Leaf springs and torsion bars can be transplanted at least.
