So I swapped my factory computer back in last night and went for a drive. I did not realize how much difference tune made.

It is pretty amazing. Did swapping the stocker back in fix your misfire issue, though?

Honestly I have no idea, sorry. Someone else can surely answer that one though.

Every time I think misfire issues my mind goes straight to weird little stuff, like ignition issues or even a clogged fuel filter. Sounds like you've ruled that stuff out, though.

Yeah, my apologies as well. Just remembered you mentioning that and wanted to see if you'd made any progress.

I would do at the least longtube headers full exhaust, tune, and at least a 4.10 gear swap and limited slip/posi not of the g80 variety

If you'd read the past few posts, you'd see that I acknowledged this. If you're including this in the "big three for these trucks," which by the way is something you made up entirely, then I'd say you're the one who's full of it. The improvements for that mod are so negligible it's not worth doing at all. I know, I've done it.

Feel free to keep recommending it. I'll keep telling people not to waste their time and energy.

You sound like one of those guys who think there's nothing wrong with GMT400 brakes too. I made up the big 3 just like the other guy who did it for electrical, big deal. I'll blow it up to the big 4 now, the 4 most impactful mods I did for power. 1: tune. 2: gears. 3 & 4: up in the air between exhaust and the TB lip removal. I admit it won't do much for a 5 speed, kinda forgot about that, but for an automatic it makes a very noticeable difference in OD holding ability. I'll also admit it does nothing for WOT operation, that's not why I deleted that lip. It also made throttle response night and day better. If you think it feels like an on/off switch, learn to feather the gas. I don't like a truck that downshifts for every little thing. Obviously you do, keep your throttle blade stock then but quit spreading misinformation.

Yup.

Sure it makes a difference, "very noticeable" is the part I'm arguing here.

I don't like a truck that downshifts for every little thing.

I don't either, that's why I recommend a tune. I find it funny that you assume I don't know how to "feather" a gas pedal. I just prefer a linear throttle response, especially in a daily driver.

keep your throttle blade stock then but quit spreading misinformation.

If anyone's doing that, it's you. Removing the TB diffuser is not God's gift to overdrive. It will help marginally, but at the expense of the linear response I mentioned.
