Figured I would start a build thread on my most recent addition to the family. I have recently acquired this 99 K2500 Suburban, she is running a 454/4L80E and is my fourth? GMT400 platform truck. To make a long story short I had another K2500 Suburban I sold when times got tough a few years back. I had big plans for that one but this one is going to be the keeper. Enough about that here are the pics and a bit of current progress.

Here she is the day I bought her... A steal at $2200, virtually rust free which was surprising given I live in New England. Supposedly the PO used it to pull a camper and garaged it during the winters which shows.

Since picking her up I have removed the running boards, added a set of tow mirrors and installed high flow cats into 3" dual in single out magnaflow due to leaky H pipe flange when I brought her home.

Here are some pictures after step removal/quick wash... and a picture of my old RCSB that was totaled due to a drunk teenager blowing a stop sign across a major route in town.

One more throwback to my 96 GMC K2500 Suburban, this one had a 6.5.. I loved it but like I said at the time I was hard up for cash and it had to go... That and the fact that there was a baseball sized hole in the front frame by the forward upper control arm mount, it's a shame but I was able to scrape up $3500 considering the condition. I paid $2000 for it when I bought it and all I did was add tow mirrors and a 4" Diamond Eye straight pipe so I'd say I did alright.

Now that we're up to speed here the only plans in the near future for the current bus is to do something about faded flares, I am thinking of doing them up in bedliner, that said does anyone have experience with different types and have any suggestions for me? Another on the to-do list is replacing front bumper as chrome is peeling and there is some rust starting where that has happened.
As far as mechanical upgrades go I'm almost certain that the FPR is in need of replacing as most 454's are, while I'm in there I will probably be doing injectors so any advice would be appreciated on that. I have done a bit of looking and seen that others have used LS1 injectors with good results but I am always open to suggestions from someone with personal experience.

Rugged looking rig, do you do the beach up in Duxbury? I am just down the rd a bit in Centerville a couple miles from Hyannis.

Welcome to the forum!
Love the green/silver Burb! Mine is the same paint scheme; shame about the RCSB, looked like a damn good truck.

Sure was a shame when that one was wrecked, I was going to keep it and repair it but there was significant frame damage. I will get another RCSB one of these days.
