Well then you both apparently love to downshift for nothing.

The throttle blade mod has absolutely nothing to do with how well the truck holds gears. A tune will help him, the throttle blade diffuser removal will not.

In my limited experience it took less gas to move after the throttle blade mod. Less gas means holds gears better at least with an automatic. When I drove a 5 speed holding a gear meant hitting a rev limiter

The reason it seems that way is you're getting more air into the engine with less movement of the pedal. The PCM will compensate for this and dump more fuel into the cylinders. You're not actually using any less gas, you're just moving the pedal less.

Well yeah that's what I meant by giving it more gas pedal movement not fuel

Ah OK I think I see what you're saying. Less pedal movement = less chance of a downshift, right? While this is sort of true, it's negligible and you'll get a lot more improvement from a tune. I just do not like the on/off switch effect that removing the throttle blade diffuser causes. I'd much rather have a linear feel to the pedal/acceleration.

You are absolutely full of ****. It allows for more airflow with less throttle input and makes a huge difference in the truck's ability to hold OD. That, headers/exhaust, and a tune are the big 3 for these trucks.

If you'd read the past few posts, you'd see that I acknowledged this. If you're including this in the "big three for these trucks," which by the way is something you made up entirely, then I'd say you're the one who's full of it. The improvements for that mod are so negligible it's not worth doing at all. I know, I've done it.

Feel free to keep recommending it. I'll keep telling people not to waste their time and energy.
