Based on the general position of the sound I'd guess it was the 4x10 that is blown.
Damn. Well, if you're in the market for 4x10's I'd recommend the 41KSC4104. IMO, they are a big upgrade from stock. The only downside is that they will make you want to change the door speakers as well . In my experience with installing it, you will need to drill holes to install it, but for other people they said it fit right into the existing holes. If you want to save your speaker harness you should consider buying an adapter. IIRC, it is this one that you need (not 100% sure, I'd have to look at the stock one): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002BG6OG/ref=s9_dcacsd_bhz_bw_c_x_2 .

Which side is blown?

I'd have to spend some more time listening to figure it out. I'd hazard a guess that it's the passengers side but not crawled around with the music cranked up to figure it out for sure.

Broke those clips down. They came with the component's kit & wiring.

Drilled out the plastic cover through those slotted holes in that previous pic, for the wires to go through.

Used those mounting cups so that they pushed the speaker out past the edge of the dash.

Are those cups universal pieces? If so where can I find them?

Thanks

I don't want to sabotage your adapter idea, it sounds great. But figured I could also let folks know Alpine's Type S tweeters fit in the factory location on '96+ trucks nicely.

I worked on it tonight and this is what I whipped up for the basic part:

I just made it the stock size with the central hole but it should be customizable to a point. Bet we'll have to use some sort of 2nd piece to attach the tweeter and mount it behind this piece as I've not really found an off the shelf tweeter that has a flush mount hole under 1.5in.
Ok guys, what would you do with the above part if that is all I made? Would it be helpful or nothing ya'll would pay for?

Thanks

Hey, anything is better than nothing! With how cheap 3D printed parts are these days, I'd buy a couple sets just to have laying around.

Talked to my buddy and he says it would be an easy print final cost $25 per pair shipped via USPS flat rate envelope so it's the same pretty much anywhere. +/- $10 for more or less until you need another envelope which is $5. Before I put them on the market I'll test them for fit in my 98 Suburban.

He did say he has a bunch of holiday jobs lined up so availability will be after new year. That's good since my ability to post in the for sale section will open up in mid January. I'll do a run of 10 of them in black and see how they move. Reprints shouldn't take more than a week if demand is good.

I got the prototype... and moved. So my spare switch plate is buried at the moment. Once I dig it out I'll test fit the piece, post some pictures, and hopefully I can post it up for sale.

Hopefully I can find the switch plate tomorrow to test it out.
