C and K series use the same tie rods and balljoints i believe. and its cool if you keep the fancy adjusters with anti sieze and all but anyone who has ever had a solid adjuster freeze up knows your going to have to heat up or get rid of the whole assembly if they get stuck bad enough. think front wheel drive car in salt and grime and has tierods frozen on it.

I have been doing collision repair for 42 years and have seen many bent tie rods but no bent sleeves. They look nice and I am sure they work fine but they seem like a solution to something that isn't a problem to me. I like being able to actually see how much tie rod is in the sleeve when looking for alignment issues. With a solid sleeve they could be adjusted till there is only a couple threads engaged and not know it.

Hi all-

Old thread dig up but I purchased the sleeves from WC for my 1996 K2500 3/4 ton 4x4 8 lug and the tie rods fit great. I went with the rough terrain mevotech TRE’s from rock auto and they thread in no problem!

Just wanted to share as it’s a easy upgrade. I might look into heim tapered adapters at some point but want the TRE’s to be safe and replaceable in the woods/ local parts store if need be.

I also have 35 inch tires FWIW.

Just changed out the inner tie rods as I had to get nasty on the center link (pitman arm and idler arm were ancient!) with heat and it traveled to the TRE boot and melted/ damaged joint :/

Still working great! easy to change out TRE and as always with these sleeves, anti seize is your friend.

1996 k2500 3/4 ton FYI

Ditto, non existent issue on these trucks, but there will always will be those that "perceive" an improvement to perceive value from the money spent.

If they were continuously flexing they would be continuously cracking and that's not happening.

Like Bob, in 30+ years of collision repair have never seen a broken one.
