they were the last ones he had in stock. I think I took the guy down memory lane- He said once he figured out what body style truck it was, he remembered what they were. I usually like to use 6 clamps, but i will take 4 factory ones, and maybe make 2 more for the middle of the cap. If I had bolted a rail system like Nissan or Toyota has in the bed, it would have been easier. That did get me thinking though about a utility bar or rail system that would allow me to mount my high lift and shovel etc in the bed. The cap may never come off again :) I love the utility of it, and since I have a 15 foot tandem axle trailer, I really can do whatever I need even with the cap on.

I realize that this thread is nearly a year old, but I am having the exact same issue. Does anyone have the mfgr and part number for this hardware?

I don't have any part numbers for the clamps but I do have an option. When I had my stepside with a cap, I used eye bolts through the stake pockets to hold the cap down. No drilling through the bed, just through the rail on the cap. It held the cap nicely and gave me a few tie down points.

Where & how did you attach to the bed without drilling any holes? You mention the stake pockets but all I can picture in my head is to try to hook an edge with a j bolt or an molly type...

There's holes at the bottom of the stake pockets. I drilled a hole in the rail of the cap to run an eye bolt down through the hole in the pocket.

But the other day I happened to be looking through a box of parts for something unrelated and came across a set of clamps I must have got with the cap I had. Shoot me a PM if you're interested, I have no use for them.

I worked at A.R.E. in massillon ohio from 98-05. They make very high quality caps and lids. I have had a 95 stepside since 98, and bought a fiberglass tonneau cover when i worked there. These are the ******* of clamps, but they do have their own style that work great. The only issue i had was some corrosion of the aluminum plus steel which i assume is common. A.R.E. had a parts dept when i was there. If u dont have luck through leer, try them or a dealer of either brand. Or get creative.
