I am too. I like things to halfway look like they came from the factory.

That said, I'm putting a cummins engine in my chevy truck completely smacking that concept right across the face.

Naw, just depends on how it's installed... I've seen engine swaps that look OEM and many that look like someone shoved a pile of parts in there.

I'll be taking my time and making everything look good. This is my version of your 88 so I'm never getting rid of it. Figured for a long term project the more durable cummins would be a better investment than the 6.5, even though I'm a 6.5 lover.

I always liked the 88-94 interiors more, but the way you've done this one just shows how much more you can do with the 95+ interiors.

Well, I put this on earlier this week, but I got a heck of a deal on an exhaust kit - Brand new Gibson Side Swept cat-back for $240 shipped. It's not exactly what I was planning for exhaust but at that price I couldn't say no.

A much better flowing muffler, and larger mandrel bent tailpipe. It's just slightly louder than stock, with a good tone from 1,200-2,500 or so. I would have went a little louder but it's also nice having a truck that isn't like the gates of hell opening up, particularly since I tend to show up to camp spots late at night.

One day I'll end up with headers.... One day.

I went with the 20" case Dynomax Ultraflow instead of the 14" on my '98 when I redid the exhaust. I'm glad I did, sounds almost stock inside but nice and deep outside. Zero drone. Turns out the older I get, the more I prefer creature comforts to noise!

I've never been around Gibson exhaust, sure would like to hear a sound clip!

I'll see what I can do.

Yeah it's been some time coming. I'd say it much closer on the stock side of the spectrum for sure, quiet at idle and in cab.

Those Gibson exhaust kits sound great. Even a better price!

I'm with you, much nicer to keep the truck quieter. Loud is fun for a while, but gets old quick.
