I have a 96 K1500 5.7 ECSB 5spd 4WD.
Since I purchased the truck it has not had a working temp gauge. Purchased a new sender and replaced the one on the side of the head. Gauge still does not work. Tried grounding the wire to the gauge on the block and the gauge doesn't move. I swapped two known working gauge clusters from two automatic 5.7 trucks a friend had and neither show the temperature gauge to work.
Is there anything else that can be causing this?
I'm assuming the only other solution is a break in the wire from the sending unit to where it reaches the instrument cluster wiring.
Any suggestions?
