Will an ext. cab from a 1992 work on a 1995?

That strip of plastic I'm talking about is the piece that runs along the door opening weatherstrip (cab side) directly next to the dash. On the 88-94 interior it's incorporated into the A-pillar plastic and a small amount in the kick panel; on 95-up it's a separate piece. It hooks into a little hole in the cab sheetmetal which you can make by drilling a hole and then elongating it with a dremel.

See one of them right next to the wiring sticking out for the dome light pin switch:

Thanks, Steve
Oh and no sweat on that pic. I was pretty proud of getting that done, otherwise I'd have had an A pillar plastic with some ugly holes in it for the missing grab handle. As I said to get it off the donor cab I just sawzall'd right through the pillar and didn't even worry about the windshield (safety glasses please!) then chucked it into a vise and drilled the welds out. Those 2 by the glass you can't really get to very easily. Obviously before chopping it out, I made a template using points on the A-pillar beyond the bracket, can't recall if I used those holes for the trim clips or other features in the metal that both cabs shared. Cover up the glass in the new cab and weld that sucker in, no biggie.

I used a headliner out of a '97 4x4 that had a grab handle in the roof and hadn't recovered it yet, so while this pic is kinda ugly for that, the A-pillar grab handle came out perfect.

I have a chance to buy a southern 1992 2WD extended cab for my 1995 4WD that is rusted beyond repair but I see the dashes are different. I am willing to change over my dash and wiring from my 1995 to the 1992, I'm just wondering if everything will fit correctly and if the holes going thru the firewall will be the same? I realize I will have to cut the hole in the floor for the 4 wheel drive shifter.

Any advice would be appreciated?

Thanks, Steve
I think the bracketry to hold the dash and accessories are different, you would have to keep the 92 dash.

No, I have 33" tires on black rims. I was debating going white with a silver 2 tone on the bottom but after seeing your pics I love the solid white!!

Thanks, Steve
Thanks! I think silver or that white/silver like bottom looks beautiful on anything.
