I didn't see a wheel and tire section and this seemed like the closest one..

2 unrelated questions. Our 99 K1500 Suburban is needing tires soon-ish. I got a quote of $608 for Firestone Destination A/T which is probably the route I'll go if I just do new tires.

But I had kind of wanted to go to a 17-18" wheel, and perusing local CL it looks like I might be able to get some wheels I like with some tires that are at least better than what I have now for less than getting new tires..

For instance this "NBS" Denali wheel set with apparently nearly new Fuzion tires for $450

My questions are
1) any reason this wheel won't work on my Suburban?
2) any reason to avoid this tire like the plague? Incidentally 2 of my current tires are Fuzions (other 2 are Falken), but I just know nothing about this brand.

I'd definitely steer clear of Fuzions if I were you. They're owned by Bridgestone/Firestone, but they're cheap Chinese manufactured bargain bin stuff.

Never seen a set of those Denali wheels in person, but I don't see any reason they wouldn't work on your 'burb.

Well the Suburban isn't a DD, just occasional use and possibly foul weather transport (though snow is somewhat rare here), so my basic thought was to avoid some expense get tires better than the well worn ones I have, and maybe get some wheels I liked. But if the Fuzions are useless in general then probably better to look for a different set or just get new tires

Just missed a set of 20" chrome Denali wheels for $450 here with some Continental tires..

There's a few others in the $600 range so I may look around.

Are the 'sawtooth' wheels worth anything for resale?

BTW, that's the wheel off this generation Denali.. I can't imagine you haven't seen them.

Oh yeah. Not a ton, but around here they're worth at least $50/wheel in good shape.

I've seen them, just never had one off to look at in person. Like I said I'm sure they'll bolt up, just not positive about their offset. Might sit a little differently on the hub than your factory wheels.
