Guys, my rear lift gate is a little sticky meaning I have to really pull the lever to disengage the sides to open down the gate. Has anyone took theirs apart to rebuild? How difficult? What's typically the cause of this? Thanks,

Mines jacked up too. you can get a rebuild kit from LMC for like 60-70 bucks and replace the parts. I'm sure a rod is bent or parts are rusty and don't run smoothly. Haven't done mine yet but will at some point, other things have priority at the moment. But yea, I've heard guys have had good luck with the LMC kit

It's not very difficult. Pry off the bezel on the tailgate handle, and you'll see the two rods connected to the handle. For me, it was a combination of the plastic clips failing and dropping the rod, and also the handle spring being worn out. I bought a new handle, took some thick wire, and tied the rod into the new handle. It felt much tighter after switching.

I'll take a photo of it when it's light out.

Before buying anything I would remove the bezel spray generously with your favorite penetrating oil on the handle where it moves then oil. 9 times out of 10 it is just lack of lube.

Yup! Had to yank on mine so hard that I figured one time the handle was gonna bust.
Opened it up, lubed the hell out of it & all is good!
Like new. Big diff.
