After driving around, i think i'm going to keep an eye out for a red bench seat in good condition. The rear buckets are cool, but i don't want to put another console back there and it just leaves an awkward void.. (Only reason i got rid of my last bench seat was because it was garbage.)

These bucket seats have good value, so I will definitely part with them if I can find a good condition bench seat.

Now that this truck is my only daily driver...

As I previously mentioned, I decided to make some changes/part donations for this truck.
I took the smoothie front end, and the 18x10 wheels off and moved them both over to the my 93 crew cab which will undergo a makeover of its own.

Recently, I took the 350 back out, and put the 6.5 diesel from my white 93 crew cab into this truck. (This was originally a 6.5) Runs really good, glad to have the diesel back under the hood, with the 4" diamond eye exhaust. Its a really nice daily driver, about 18 mpg on average. If I babied it, I could probably get 20. Anyways, need to give it a nice detail before winter, and who knows. If I decide to go the dually route on my other truck this might get the 18x10 wheels back.

You swap more parts between your trucks than a woman puts on makeup.

I have a very bad habit of not being able to leave things alone.

In all seriousness the biggest mistake was just putting the 350 in a crew cab. Way too much truck for a small block. Oh well, live and learn. I'll use the 350 in something else, I have a 51 chevy pickup that needs re-done at some point, and the 350 is a good 4 bolt main block.

Now that both trucks are diesel, I'm back to getting 18-19mpg. And lastly, part of the reason with switching front ends was to donate the smoothie front end to the 93.

UPDATE:

Found a K2500 crew cab short bed frame...

My original plan was to build the 2WD cummins crew cab, then sell or trade this truck for a 4x4. It has 372k on it, very unlikely anyone in their right mind will buy it. (without me giving it away)

So instead of purchasing another truck, i'll keep this one, except make it a crew cab short bed 4x4. I can use the transmission from this truck as a core for the cummins, and the bed as well.

All i'll need is a 4x4 transmission, and the short bed! Its even a 3:73 truck.

So even though I've got my hands full right now, I went and picked up my next project this weekend.. Travelled from Central IL to an hour south of Kansas City Kansas to pick this up..

A 99 K2500 CCSB 4wd chassis with 3:73 gears. Not in bad shape, but not rust free ether. Will have to clean it up and paint it to get rid of all the surface rust. Nothing is rotted out all can be cleaned up.

Ultimately this comes down to the fact that I don't need two CCLB 2wds, and want a 4x4 but don't want a 3rd truck.

I figure this 94 (even being rust free) with 374k miles is only worth a few grand at most. $3k if I'm really lucky. To buy a 3/4 ton 4wd i'll probably spend $1500-2500 and it will be far from rust free. So I figured its a better idea build a 4 wheel drive with all of the options I could ever want from the factory. (Mechanical 6.5 diesel, 88-94 style burgundy interior with buckets, crew cab, 4wd, short bed 1 ton, floor shift transfer case) Plan on using the full float 3:73 14 bolt and leafs from the original C3500 chassis.

Essentially if I were to think up a "dream truck" from GM, this would be it.

Now, I'll still have the Cummins CCLB for when I need the long bed. (I do use both trucks as trucks so I need to keep at least one long bed.)

Trip went smooth, 7 hour drive each way stayed the night Saturday and brought it back Sunday, truck actually ran great, rode very nice averaging about 16.5 mpg at 70mph. About 1000 miles between the two days.. Between driving home, dropping off my buddy and returning the trailer that thing ran practically all day non stop from 7am-8pm on Sunday.
