Hey everyone, I'm new to the site and this is my first post, so please bear with me.

I bought a 1992 K1500 Silverado "Heavy Half". Single owner, 143k RCLB. I've preformed a basic tune up: Plugs, Wires, Oil, Fuel Filter, Disturber Cap and Rotoer Button. Is there anything else I may have missed?

I'm need to this truck, so is there a list of common problems I need to look for or things I may need to prepare for?

Should I leave the air tube from the fender to the air box on or off?

What are the best shocks out there to replace the old ones with?

I'm wanting to run a GM 17 inch wheel with a set of 285/70R17, is it better to crank or go with keys?

If I use keys, will I need to do anything to the rear?

I've tried to research as much as possible, but I'm not having much luck on finding info. Can y'all please school me? Thank you!

Torsion bar crank may give you the clearance that you need.

Bilstein shocks are a good choice, they make standard ones and then another line for lifts.

Delco wires and plugs are usually the way to go.

Leave it on.

Bilsteins, for sure.

Just crank the bars a little. If you even need to, that setup will probably fit just fine. Aftermarket keys are a complete waste of money on these trucks, they won't gain you any height over what you can get by just cranking on the factory stuff.

If I use keys, will I need to do anything to the rear?

Only if you want to maintain the rake look. But once again, just crank the bars. Don't waste your money on keys. These trucks sit about two inches higher in the rear than the front from the factory. An inch or so of crank on the T-Bars in front will just level things out a little.
