The older trucks have a brace from the side of the transfer case up to the bellhousing to help hold the pig up. Trust me, you can crack an alloy housing if you don't put it back on lol.

That's good to know, seeing as I got one sitting there and was contemplating whether to put it on or not. Tomorrow I think I will dive into this pig some more

Aluminum. I thought about steel, can't remember a good reason why I did or didn't want them now...

The only place I found that makes them steel want's like 400 a set lol. I'm all for quality, but that's excessive.

Yeah these were 245 before taxes and duty and all that BS. Steel would have been 300 or something maybe? Not sure. Got them from Motorsport-tech for this Dana70/14boltFF hub (the axle is a 70HD) with steel bud rims but using 9/16-18 hardware. And anodized black naturally

Even like a small machine shop? I don't remember what mine are made out of, the same steel that axle shafts are made out of and it was $400. That included material.

Sent from the land of the ice and snow.

This guy is a retired machinist. I'm sure he makes a quality product and all that, but I'm equally sure the 100 dollar spacers I put on my Trailblazer racked up 30k miles just fine also lol.
