You're thinking of a really extreme notch for a truck slammed on bags. For the notch you would use on a regular 6" rear drop you don't cut the bed out at all, other than a very small section of a support underneath so the top of the differential doesn't smack it.

If you're sticking with just a flip, then yes. Do yourself a favor too and get the Belltech flip kit as it's the best one out there IMO.

If you carry heavy loads or also add drop shackles then you'll find yourself bottoming out on the shorty bump stops that come with those notches. Nothing serious but I did bend mine a little bit where the bump stops mount. Overall structure of them was fine; that's an area they can take a little beating and not damage them otherwise.

Sweet. Would you go belltech for 1500, 2500, and 3500? I havnt found much yet but i know its going to be a gmt400 platform. I found a one ton dually with the frame already cut ready to turn into a trailer. There is a link in the chat thread but that one is kinda pricey for me.

I think it's generally accepted that you can drop the rear 4" without the notch, although I've seen a few people say they had issues with suspension travel. Personally I'd say 3" or less if you don't want to do the notch.

No clearance issues nor any suspension probs on mine with the 4" rear drop. And I've had some pretty hefty loads in the box. 2 complete '50's GM interiors, electric bench seats & all. (Damn heavy! Approx. 200 lb.s each, just for the fr. seats!) 800 lb.s total?

Dont you have to cut sections of the bed floor out to notch? I wanted to use it for my mowing trailer. And i dont think ill be able to get a mower in it if i have a big hump in the bed lol
Edit: i thought about doing a 4 link and bags but then id have to have a compressor. Plus thats alot of work for a mowing trailer lol.

do you just have stock springs and a drop shackle? id love for the bed floor to be about 2-2.5 feet off of the ground.
