MDR-97-Z71 hit it on the head. do what he said, its the proper way to disable. forget the parking brake 1 click garbage

If you don't have fog lights, just pull the fuse its a tad easier.

New to this thread, and by the way my fuse on the side panel is also pulled, and since my truck came with tow hooks, no fog lights, not an issue for me.

But what I am curious about is, has anyone figured out how if it is possible to find the circuit that does make your headlights DRL's and and feed that to an aftermarket set up so something else can be used for DRL's instead of shortening the life of the low beam head light?

I wouldn't mind having DRL's but not the head lights, I found out the hard way that both low beam bulbs had burned out when I went to go somewhere after dark. At the time I worked (retired now) typical day shift hours so I wasn't aware those light were out.

Edited:
Forgot to add my truck is a 1998 GMC Sierra SLE,
that has more 'patina' than I wish it had. :(

Ohh, great idea. Let's push the parking brake down 1 click so the BRAKE light is lit. That way, when something is wrong with your brakes and the truck senses it thence lighting up the BRAKE light, to tell you somehting is wrong with your brakes, you won't know. That is just brilliant.
