Decided to make a center console for my 94 Yukon, and since I'm a crap carpenter but a pretty good welder, I made it from aluminum

A clean shop is the sign of someone having nothing to do.

I think for the sides and part where the cup holders are I'm going to cover with sheet metal then powder coat it. But for the lid I want to make it out of wood and cover it in vinyl. But I'm not sure how to wrap it right

A few more pics from today's progress. Also, I hate spool guns so much. And welding aluminum in general, stuff I used is too thin to do anything but tack together but if I made it from steel it would've been way too heavy.
