So I have a 1998 gmc 1500 z71, stock. When I come to a stop, stop sign or light, and let off the brake to start going I get a slight clunk from the rear. Kind of feels like the brakes are still engaged for a second and then I get a clunk noise. It's not all the time it can go days with out doing it. Brakes don't feel hotter than normal. Right side wheel cylinder is new, left side is like 2 years old and same with the shoes. I've searched for things on this but getting mixed info, so I thought I'd ask with my symptoms. Thanks for the help.

are you sure its not just the brake shoes letting go of the drums and making a clunk sound?

Sounds like driveline to me. Check U joints.
You are checking them when in neutral correct... if not they will still have a bind on them and you might not feel the play....
