In addition ot another filter closer to the compressor, and a filter right at my gun. I don't like a regulator at the gun, makes it bulky to me.

Thats kinda what i thought. I may give this a try if this one i have doesnt work out. Defintaly wont have that big guy gun mounted

A screw compressor is awesome for jackhammers and industrial sandblasting. Overkill, but that's fine, as long as moisture and any oil is dealt with. ( according to your post, you should be fine )

Pressure should be set with the gun trigger pulled. 50 feet of 3/8" line is getting a bit long, but you should be fine, keep in mind it might be a bit heavy when you are spraying a roof or hood.

If the hose you are using has been used with an inline air tool oiler, you may want to put a very small amount of solvent in the hose to flush out any remaining oil, blowing out the solvent in a safe place away from flame.

Flush the gun with clean gun wash, acetone or lacquer thinner prior to pouring in your mixed paint.

its just my compressor at work lol. Its a brand new hose, i bought it a while back when i thought i was gonna buy a compressor for at home and never even took it out of the box. Thanks for the help, i think i finally got it set up to practice. I think the regulator i have will work for that but im definatly gonna get one like jrgunn has

did some test painting this morning, kinda preparing myself to paint the bottom of my truck after the cab corner is on. I didnt want to overspray on everything so i didnt get the edges that great but it looks decent and i got a good pattern down. It was just black ACE rust stop paint thinned down with acetone. No runs either, i know i know, its just cardboard but still lol.
After i did this i painted post for a basketball hoop with it. I didnt grab any pics of that because its massive but it didnt run either!
