I highly suggest a set of Timbren rubber overload springs. I have them on my truck for heavy loads. My truck is an 8600 gvw k2500 so it has a lot stiffer springs to begin with, but my camper also weighs about 2500 lbs dry. The truck is extremely stable with the timbren springs. They are a better solution than extra springs in the pack since your unloaded ride is unaffected

The OEM 1-ton secondary overload springs will not affect unloaded ride either, as they are not in contact with the frame unloaded, but only once weight is on the truck.
