So ive been moving into a new house. Backed the truck into the drive way and started smelling gas and i think smoke. Shut it off, found the return line leaking. Replaced that then found a leak in the supply line haha. Replaced that. Now i have no cranking with the key.

Fuses are all good. I can hear the fuel pump running. Occasionally i can get the starter solenoid to click, but most times its nothing at all with key turn. Before i drop the starter to have it tested i want to plug it in and check the obd1 readings. (Whenever i get a free moment)

Anyone have suggestions or clues on other issues this maybe? Starter has never given me issues before. While the truck body is a 1985 all of the wiring, ecm, and drivetrain are from a 1994 k1500 pickup.

have you played with the battery cables? is the battery charged? I have on multiple occasions moved battery cables where they connect to the battery and had the truck start, it Usually happens when the trucks down for a while or if I changed batteries recently.

If you got the old school direct drive starter, you can beat on it like it owes you money,(couple good smacks) and if it starts. you found your problem.

Did you try jumping the starter solenoid with a screwdriver?

My main question would be is there anything that the PCM would do to prevent from turning over because it had that broke fuel line

12v from battery to starter is good. Pulled the starter and took it to autozone, it works fine on their machine. I guess check the solenoid signal wire from the truck next? Easiest way to check that?
