ok seriously now i'm 3 for 3 on vortec 5.7 with bad intake gaskets. my 96 yukon had a mystery vacuum leak and loss of coolant at 115k. my 98 silverado blew coolant out of the exhaust at somewhere about 250k (ok that one i can understand), and now this nice low mileage 99 suburban i just bought also has coolant loss and rough idle.

i get that i need to check for vacuum leaks in other places and check for other coolant leaks before condemning the intake gaskets on the suburban, but i'm thinking it is that darn intake gasket.

but seriously i'm a little annoyed that i'm already spending money on the truck. if i wanted to deal with this i would have bought one with double the miles for half the price lol.

i guess i'm just venting. i'd have a shop do the work so i would have them do the fuel injection spider since there is no extra labor really, if they still used the crappy style in 99? is
ACDelco 217-3029
the one to get?

thanks all!

Yes that is the one, as far as I know, they never updated the trucks from the factory, but I beleive Cali trucks got theirs replaced as part of a class action?

Anyway, that's the part number, good luck.

what about the BWD 63886? I can get that from O'Reilly Auto Parts for $250 with my employee discount. The AC Delco is $270 on Amazon which is the same price as RockAuto once you factor shipping. I guess it doesn't come with the required gaskets but the MS98000T (the upgraded Fel-Pro MS98000T intake gasket set) should include all of those anyway.

Also the same, but doesn't come with the updated bracket. I've used both, both worked.

There's a little bracket that holds it in. AcDelco has it, BWD doesn't. If it makes a difference, i can't tell.

Does this look good? I'll probably get some stuff from O'Reilly but I am thinking that the ACDelco injectors and pressure regulator are going to be the best quality options never to have to do them again.

Thanks.

No need for the Fuel Pressure regulator, it's on the new spider. I'd really like to know why Felpro gives you one valve cover gasket in their kit lol.
