What do you folks use when looking at something like this? Broke apart when pulling the bearing out. Figured a inner 3 jaw puller but don't have one.

Welder. Put a bunch of short passes with small rod ( 3/32" 7018 ) on the race I.D. if you have a welder in your shop. The heat will shrink the bearing, allowing it to be easily removed.

Stuff a few wet rags a bit farther down the tube prior to, then fish them out and make sure to clean any debris out of the tube before installing the new one.

Say what???? Heat will expand the bearing outer race that is left making it tighter.. doing the opposite of what needs to be done...

Unless I'm missing a step in my head like dumping cold water on it so it cools off very fast like shrinking sheet metal when it's stretches out when doing body work....

Magimerlin, I beg to differ, I work in a shop that does machine work all the time. As the weld cools, it shrinks. If you put enough weld, you can tap it out with a very small hammer, or it will fall out on it's own. ( vertical bearing race )

I weld bearing races out all the time, works very well. As the weld cools it shrinks the race.
