Big block ?

I was hopeful but the truck I was gonna use for parts even though it had low miles it turned out to have a bad motor knock and I quickly lost interest. Gonna just go back to the original plan: add headers and a mild cam.

Very beautiful truck you have there. The mods you have done are very tasteful. I'm digging your exhaust. Where did you get those tail pipes and what size are they? Would love to hear how it sounds with new exhaust. I want to replicate that exhaust on my big block 5 speed except with chambered mufflers.

Exhaust was done at a local exhaust shop. Mufflers are Hush Thrush Turbos and the tips are Jones 4 inch. Video of the exhaust on the dyno.

I hope it wasn't piston slap that you turned down, but from your post history I think you're keen enough to know the difference.

Exhaust sounds good. Sorta "sporty." Its going to sound good with some headers. I can't wait for a cam for mine... need some EFI liveliness first though.

What size tail pipes??

2.5 inch. Factory off the manifolds is dual 2.75 for the 2500 and 3500 trucks but with only a 350 i figured downsizing the tail pipes to 2.5 wouldn't change anything.

Yeah i've head piston slap and this wasn't piston slap. Thing had been beaten hard without maintenance. The EFI-Live tuning dialed in the mixture/timing and I picked up 14 hp at the tires. Runs smoother too. Just doing shorty headers with 1 & 5/8 primary tubes. Want to keep it semi-quiet. My Suburban with a cam'd LS engine is just so ******* loud that I need something quiet.

I had the trans go hd2 installed on my 4l80e with 6.5 diesel and it would break tires loose shifting to second when getting on it. Awesome lol

So I went to replace my dual steering stabilizers? The original owner said the dealer installed them with the lift kit before he bought it in the fall of 1997. No idea who made this kit. I had been hunting for part numbers because I wanted new shocks to replace the rusty black ones. Ended up just having to measure cause I couldn't find anything

Also I have 1&5/8th headers now. Paint burned off instantly but the gaskets and included hardware worked great and they seal perfectly. I've had good luck with VHT header paint combatting rust so i'll spray them liberally with it once all the paint is completely gone. The Trans-Go kit shifts great. The EGR is now all deleted. Taking it down to get tuned next week.
