I already have quotes on both. The valvebody rebuild with all the updates is going to be 250, the converter, if I need it, will be 400 plus whatever I find the converter for.

There's nothing wrong with the trans itself, that's why I walked on the local guy's and drove it ninety miles lol. I can see inside the thing with the VB removed.

80's typically have either a harness problem or a converter problem. Sometimes they lose reverse, but they don't have nearly the reliability issues 60's do.

Yea after i replaced two within 10k miles of eachother i broke down and bought one from monster transmission and havnt had any problems since. Didnt you replace the harness in yours already?

Yes, the harness fixed my super hard shifting issues, but why the converter isn't locking is anyone's guess. I used ot build transmissions, but I don't currently have the space, time, or patience to be dropping the pan a hundred times to figure it out.
