dd = direct drive pmgr = something i forget gear reduction

both will work in your truck. direct drive is older (traditional) style and costs less, while pmgr is lighter and smaller (so, easier to install) and needs less power to start, but costs more.

It's too bad the parts guy didn't know that lol. They wonder why Amazon is running them out of business. If I have to google thing's for myself, then I may as well stay at home and pay 35% of what they charge.

Agree! A good, old school partsman is a really good guy to know. Where I live, many of the old small parts shops are closing, being replaced by chain store shops, usually way bigger, and with counter guys that really don't know their stuff.

Used to be a huge rack of parts books on the counter, now a computer, but I think the books might have been better.

I have a good NAPA locally, but that's it.

I used to work at napa, and we had two of those huge racks of books. They where great! Had all the information the computers had, and then some. Over the years as napa released newer books, they phased out all the older info, and the books got smaller and smaller. It got to the point where the whole store only had one good older book to use for each "section" (braked, electronics etc etc) and only certain people where allowed to use it.

But sadly today napa, and every other store hires people off the street that don't know and don't care about cars/trucks.
