We towed a couple hours to race this weekend. I had never noticed it before but the passenger front floorboard got really hot. Truck ran perfect. No other issues. No check engine light. Wondering if it being low, having the front deflector etc.... might be keeping air from passing underneath causing that condition or is there something else I should check?

I wouldn't worry about it. You drive, you tow, its hot outside, truck gets hot......1000 degree exhaust gasses passing right under you in a tube....

Thanks guys. I'll check for a shield not sure if there is one there or not. Thinking I might put some Dynamat on the floorboard under the carpet there. It melted my wife's granola bars that were in her purse on the floor. :)

I think you are probably right. I'm going to insulate the floor and call it good.
The same thing happened to my truck it actually got hot enough to start melting my rubber floor so I cut the cats off and the one below the pass floor was almost completely plugged I could only see one spec of light through it.

Unless a heat shield fell off, It shouldnt be getting that hot, may be partially plugged.

Everytime ive heard of the floorboards melting, the catalytic converters needed replacing.
