So i went and bought a new power steering pump for my truck (napa) and it was defective chirping noise
they swapped it and the second has a faulty top where cap go's. (Both reman pumps)
I hear Auto zone and advance auto pumps are junk (reman also)

Honestly if you are able, might not be a bad idea to get an OEM one from the junkyard, i've done it before and never run into an issue, just look for trucks that haven't been sitting there for ages, and don't look like the lines are leaking or anything, because nobody scraps a truck because the ps pump fails. Sometimes you can get lucky and catch one when it comes in that still runs so you can test it first.

I've changed out a few P/S pumps over the years on my trucks. Had two that made noise. Seems that with a reman, you pays yer moneys & ya takes yer chances.
It's a toss-up weather they're gonna make noise or not. A 50/50 deal.
The one on my '97 whines. After I went through all that to put it in, didn't really want to do it again.
Been like that for a couple of years. I don't even hear it any more.
Had one guy walk up to the truck after I had parked at a shopping center. Wanted to see under the hood, 'cause..."That doesn't sound stock! Whatchya got under there?"
He looked kinda disappointed when I told him that it's just a 6 with a P/S pump that likes to make noise!
Guess he thought that it was pressurized in some way or another! Lol!

I replaced mine with a remanufactured one from autozone because mine was leaking from the body and whined. The remanufactured one whined to, but it does not leak, I can deal with the whine.

I recently rebuilt my 5.0L 305 for my 1994 k2500 Cheyenne truck and after reinstalling the engine I noticed my power steering pump shaft was wobbling when putting the pulley back on so I pulled the pump back off and purchased a power steering kit from Autozone for $13.99 then rebuilt the pump works better than new. Very easy to do.....
