Hi, i'm Jake
I have a '94 Cheyenne 4.3 with 4L60E
My 4.3 is great. The entire drivetrain is original and has 143k miles. I got the truck in 2014 at 98k miles. Recently i've been having trans problems and will likely use my friend's 4l60e. The main thing i'm looking at, after that is what i would need to swap a 1973 327 into my 94. The motor is coming out of a 73 silverado camper edition 8200 GVW. The motor has been rebuilt, i'm told it was substantially bored out. Main things i need to address, i can tune out the engine from the computer, right? Send it to pcm4less etc. Then, will the motor mount in the same potlsition/will i need new brackets, it looks like i will. Will i need a new rear end? I'm trying to use only drivetrain parts i have from the 2 trucks. i would use it's trans too but it's a 4wd and i'm not looking for this to get anymore complicated than it already is.Any other info you can come up with would be greatly appreciated. I know i'm missing some things. Thanks in advance

There are lots of threads on this site related to this, but here's the short of it. you need new motor mounts, the v6's have a stupid bracket that sets the engine further back. Aside from that, trans and rear end will be fine, might just need to move the crossmember, and/or get the driveshaft resized. If you reuse the same trans, you can probably keep your speedo working, since it's not run off of a cable.

If you're planning on carbed you will either need a stand alone computer to run the 4l60e or the ability to run all the sensors tps, map sensor, not sure of the others. If you buy a 700r4 you get the stuff to run a TV cable so the transmission knows how to adjust

I was told i could have the transmission flashed out of the computer and use the remaining programming. Is this not the case? And i really appreciate all of the info. I saw a post for a new 327 but i was unsure if this would be the same since it's 20 years earlier than my model.
