On my truck, on the passenger side of the transmission (4l60e) I have a 4 pin straight weathercock connector that has been sitting there since I bought the truck. It isn't connected to anything, and doesn't have anything around it to connect to. I haven't got to test the wires for anything yet, but nothing seems to be not working on the truck, so I'm not sure what it could be. Heres a picture of the connector I'm talking about:

The male side it the one sitting there.
Any ideas?

Park/ Neutral Switch Connector I believe.

Not sure if there was a cut off year for the 95+ neutral park switch or not.

I've never personally looked underneath mine but in the past I think that's what it was.

Can you start it in gear?

It's the PNP connector, at least, it looks identical to the one on Pigpen.

Helps almost always if you bother to mention the year and model of the truck instead of making us guess. 4L60E used from 1993-up and lots of changes across those years.

Earlier I instantly thought "O2 sensor" because for 1994-1995 you would have a heated O2 (most light duty automatic-equipped GMT400's) right there near the passenger side of the trans, with the harness coming down along the heat shield on the side of the trans. That would be a 3 pin connector though because it's just 12V/GND/signal.

For a 1993-1994 4L60E it would not be the park/neutral switch because that is at the base of the steering column, inside the cab. For 1995-up it wouldn't be, either, because the range switch is on the driver's side of the trans and has totally different connections.

98 c1500 My bad.

Its not the heated 02, as that sensor is there and is plugged in post-cat. The 02 sensor connector has a square 2x2 connector on it like the one below:

My neutral safety switch looks like this and is plugged in on the other side of the trans:
